Tales from the needle: Volume VIII
Tales from the Needle is a weekly series which will highlight people and their tattoos. Some people have a favorite tat, their most memorable ink. Some people put more emphasis on the needle from a tattoo gun penetrated their skin while others have one they wish they never put any ink on their body.
Every Friday, the blog will have a first-person story of a person and their tats of choice, using only images of their tats keeps the theme of this being a faceless site. The images seen here will merely aid in bringing nuance to the numerous layers that compose the person.

I got my tattoo in spring of 2005 while I was in college. It was during the roughest time of my life, things were really bad, and a lot of things were going on. My best friend at the time was like, “Hey, even though things are getting bad, just think of a garden filled with flowers.” Each flower has its own story, the way it grows, and each comes out in different shapes and sizes.
It’s a constant reminder that no matter how bad things get in your life, there’s always something good that will come out of them. With my tattoo, there are seven different flowers with each flower having seven different meanings which are associated with my life. The thorns along the vine are a reminder that to get where I want to go, there are going to be ups and downs. It’s just a great reminder of how life processes that even though bad things might happen, there are things there that are still good.
