Tales from the needle: Volume IV
Tales from the Needle is a weekly series which will highlight people and their tattoos. Some people have a favorite tat, their most memorable ink. Some people put more emphasis on the needle from a tattoo gun penetrated their skin while others have one they wish they never put any ink on their body.
Every Friday, the blog will have a first-person story of a person and their tats of choice, using only images of their tats keeps the theme of this being a faceless site. The images seen here will merely aid in bringing nuance to the numerous layers that compose the person.
As told by drstar02:
Alright, my favorite tattoo; well actually, my first one. I got it a few years ago. It’s on my back on the…upper right-hand side. It’s a butterfly, and I got it as an adult. I was in my early-30s. I’ve always liked the meaning of a butterfly and what it stands for.
It starts off as a gross, disgusting, ugly little caterpillar (laughs), and it undergoes these amazing changes. Then, one day, it evolves into this beautiful, colorful insect that flies and does whatever it wants. For me, it symbolizes freedom and just the notion that even though things are ugly in the beginning, they can have a beautiful ending.
